About Carrie
Meet Carrie Graves, a visionary communicator, dream worker, and founder of Creative Monastery.
Inspired by a vivid dream in 2014, Carrie began to form a vision to empower others to bring balance, peace, purpose to their lives through the intersection of spirituality, creativity, and communication. Her calling bridges the areas of personal growth, spirituality, theology, psychology, leadership development and organization management, helping individuals and communities connect deeply with themselves, the divine, and the world around them.
A graduate of the Haden Institute Dream Work Certification Course and a board certified coach, Carrie blends her passion for dream work and spiritual formation with her professional expertise in communications. Holding a Master of Communication from the Knight School of Communication, she has served as Canon for Communications in the Episcopal Dioceses of Upper South Carolina and Maryland, where she transformed organizational messaging, supported church leadership, and built meaningful connections within faith communities.
Carrie’s work is rooted in the belief that communication—in all its forms—creates communities and that the better we are at all forms of communication and expressing ourselves, the better, more loving communities we build. Whether through words, music, or creative expression, she encourages others to work to awaken their inner mystic, inviting them to discover their authentic voices and bring their visions to life. A lifelong Episcopalian, musician, and lover of books, she finds inspiration in the harmony of stories, emotions, and experiences that shape our lives and guide our collective journey.

In my 30s, I discovered my passion and genetically-provided talent for communication, as well as my call to work in The Episcopal Church and my devotion to spirituality—Since then, everything I’ve done has been about communication—the essential thread that weaves through all aspects of life, faith, and leadership. Whether guiding individuals in their spiritual and professional growth, helping churches find clarity in their mission, or creating tools that amplify stories of transformation, I am passionate about fostering connection, through which God’s love can grow.
With over a decade of leadership in Episcopal Church governance and communications, I bring a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on expertise. My journey has included serving as Canon for Communications in two dioceses, managing media relations, creating strategic campaigns, and advising churches on everything from governance to technology. Along the way, I earned a Master of Communication and recently became a Board Certified Coach, further deepening my ability to support leaders and organizations.
As a consultant, I help churches and non-profits align their systems and tools with their values, crafting workflows, selecting technologies, and shaping communication strategies to maximize their impact. My coaching practice builds on this foundation, empowering individuals and teams to navigate challenges, find purpose, and grow with intention. And through creative collaboration, I partner with organizations to bring their visions to life, whether through writing, design, or content creation.
At every step, I aim to foster communication that connects people to themselves, to one another, and to the divine—transforming lives and communities in the process.
